James Martin has lost a significant amount of weight over the years. Some catalysts for this transformation included a stint on one of the nation’s favourite shows, Strictly Come Dancing, in 2005, and social media trolling.
Despite losing five stone on Strictly, James struggled to keep the weight off.
The chef said: “I looked on social media and every comment was about me being fat,” reported The Sun.
Seriously passionate about food and ingredients, his cooking offered included double cream, full fat milk, cheese and butter.
A self-proclaimed foodie, he stated: “I like food. I’ve always been surrounded by food. I was brought up on a farm, I worked on a farm producing pigs.”

“The way I lost weight is by cutting down soft drinks. I drink a lot of water, two litres every day,” he told Hello!
“I still eat exactly the same.”

Studies have shown that overweight people who drink one to one and a half litres of water a day for a few weeks, see a “significant reduction in weight, body mass index, waist circumference and body fat”.
The temperature of the water is also crucial for slimmers: “These results may be even more impressive when the water is cold. When you drink cold water, your body uses extra calories to warm the water up to body temperature.”
Gone are the days of fans commenting that he looks “fat” on TV, as James is both looking and feeling healthier after discovering this weight loss hack.
Last year, James addressed weight loss praise on social media, tweeting: “Haha thanks all. Lost 14 kilos, got to get new clothes.”
