Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) is making the media rounds as she gears up for a Senate run to try to win Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat. But she’s going to face a tough challenge from the ever-slimy Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). Unfortunately, both Schiff and Porter are bad choices for California voters.

Porter already didn’t have a good reputation with staff whistleblowing about how ill-tempered she is, and how she treated a staff member after Porter blamed her for Porter catching COVID. But as my colleague Jennifer Oliver O’Connell explained, someone is now dropping more dirt on Porter. Stories came out this week alleging her crazy behavior toward her ex-husband including dumping a pot of boiling potatoes on his head.

Not exactly the best recommendation for a Senate seat.

Porter also didn’t help herself in her appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Friday night. She might have thought that she was going to get a pass on the show, but no such luck. She stepped in it repeatedly, getting schooled by both Piers Morgan and Maher.

Porter said she disagrees with Riley Gaines. Morgan asked what was it that she disagreed with Gaines about, that Gaines was standing up for the rights of women for fair competition. Is Porter saying that she’s against that? “What has she [Gaines] said that’s actually wrong?” Morgan asked. Watch Porter scramble and try to come up with something.

Porter claimed that Gaines was trying to “get likes, and get clicks.” Wait, aren’t you on Maher’s show to get “likes,” to get votes? Gaines is just trying to get fair competition for herself and for other women, as Morgan said. He said the competition Gaines had with Lia Thomas was “obviously unfair,” to great cheers from the audience.

It’s Porter who is taking the position against women and fairness. She tried to claim that she stood up for Gaines’ free speech, even as she attacked it.

“I think she’s speaking up for pretty much every female athlete in the world,” Morgan said, to more cheers from the audience.

Then Maher jumped in and made a great point that what’s happening now with biological men in women’s sports was the opposite of what people fought for with Title IX, that “wokeness” or whatever you wanted to call this was the opposite of “liberalism” (classical liberalism). “This is ‘Let’s put a male in the swimming pool with women,’” Maher said. “I don’t get it.”

Morgan said the answer was to compete with your biological sex or have a new category, but men can’t be “decimating” women’s sports.

Then Morgan also put Porter on the spot over comparisons between the Jan. 6 riot and the Tennessee “transurrection” that was, in part, whipped up by Democratic legislators who disrupted an official proceeding. When the “official proceeding” was disrupted on Jan. 6, we were told that was an “attack on democracy.” Morgan said that if you objected to one you should object to the other. But Porter said that the “principle” was different.

Warning for graphic language:

Of course, because “principle” with Democrats equals “anything that advances my political agenda is right,” no matter what other “principle” it runs over. Porter argued it was okay for the three TN Democrats to break the rules because they were being “silenced.”

Then she just lied her head off about what happened on Jan. 6. “What happened on Jan. 6 was a bunch of bat s**t crazy f**ks with guns who killed police people!” Porter claimed. This isn’t even close to being true. No guns were used by any rioters. The only person who used a gun was the Capitol Police officer who killed Ashli Babbitt. Plus, no police were shot and no police were killed on Jan. 6. It should be shocking that a member of Congress would be this ignorant, but Democrats keep repeating variations of this lie.

Talk about wanting clicks and attention. The Tennessee Democratic legislators could have voted for a bill to ensure more safety for kids. Instead, they didn’t; they tried to advance their political fortunes and went on things like “Good Morning America.”

Next, Morgan and Maher talked about how ridiculous it was for Jack Teixeira to be sharing Pentagon secrets for “likes” and attention on the Discord server. Porter decided that was the moment to defend 20-year-old “kids.”

I’m confused. Is she defending Teixeira? She’s saying 20-year-olds are kids. Yet, I’m also sure that she’s cool with the left’s position that it’s all cool to have real kids — minors — get transgender surgery. So are those “kids” suddenly mature but 20-year-olds who leak secrets aren’t? I’m sorry, but leftists are giving me a headache with this type of crazy illogic. If she’s saying 20-year-olds are immature, then how can you think it would be right to have even younger “kids” get life-altering surgery?

Porter gets taken to school by Maher, who points out 20-year-olds aren’t kids, that they can fight in the Army, and that they can vote. Those “immature” people are deciding whether you can be in Congress, Maher chided her.

She then claimed, “I win those votes.”

“You just said you win the votes of the immature,” Maher said, doing her in again. He made the great point that compared to other countries, and over history in our own country, that now kids are coddled and have a sense of entitlement.

What a horrible appearance—Porter just revealed what a truly ignorant candidate she is.
