The Bachelorette‘s Jarrod Woodgate has taken aim at a Darwin coffee shop after he was told he ‘had to wait outside’ because he’d brought along his therapy dog.

The reality star, 36, lashed out at the café in an Instagram Story post on Saturday, claiming the encounter left him feeling ’embarrassed’, ‘ashamed’, and ‘unable to stop shaking’.

Uploading a photo of himself grimacing at the camera while sitting outside the café with his therapy dog Lily, Jarrod wrote: ‘Went to my favourite cafe in Darwin to get a takeaway coffee and went inside with Lily to pay.’

Jarrod said there was only a problem when he returned to the cafe, alongside his girlfriend Sam Royce’s mother and Lily about half an hour later.

‘Half an hour later I took Sam’s mum back to get a coffee and a cake and there were no tables outside,’ he said.

‘So we walked in and were met with a staff member who asked if I could sit outside with Lily as a customer complained about me taking Lily inside earlier,’ he added.

Jarrod went on to state he was legally allowed to take Lily inside the building, and accused the business of favouring another customer’s wishes over his own needs.

‘They chose to prioritise the other customer who doesn’t like dogs over the customer with a disability and a service dog,’ he said.

He then accused the business of being ‘backwards’ and claimed the staff should have treated his mental disability in the same manner as a physical disability.

‘As some of you already know, for the last few years since I was medically discharged from the army – I have struggled to cope with every day life,’ he wrote to Instagram at the time.

He continued: ‘I have finally got some answers and have been diagnosed with PTSD, depression, anxiety and adjustment disorder, as well as ankle, knee and back injuries.’

It comes after Jarrod revealed he was moving to Darwin to be with his Bachelor star girlfriend Sam.
