Further, Sally also received the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to Regional Broadcasting in 2005.

Although she has not returned back to her work, she seems to be fully updated about her work and is seen promoting BBC South Today frequently.
In 2000, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, she survived the Cancer but she is still undergoing treatment and is admitted to the hospital. Per her tweet on April 2021, she was not fully recovered and was still in the hospital. She also took some time off from presenting. After that, she has not been updated about her health in a long time.

There is no explicit news confirming that she has retired.
It appears that she is in the hospital right for her further Breast Cancer treatment. Therefore, she is not seen in BBC south Today which might have made people think that she has retired.
