With people ordering takeaway in lockdown more than ever before, Domino’s has launched a vegan range so those on a plant-based diet can enjoy its popular pizzas.

The chain is trialling two new vegan-friendly recipes in 46 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland from today.

Building on takeaway’s two popular vegetarian menu options, the new plant-based Original Cheese & Tomato will be made using Domino’s own vegan cheese alternative, as well as its signature vine-ripened tomato sauce.

The Vegan Vegi Supreme will stay true to the original, adorned with a rainbow of fresh vegetables, including mushrooms, sweetcorn, onions, green and red peppers and tomatoes.

The chain trialled a vegan dough a year ago, but discovered it ‘wasn’t up to scratch’.

It says the new recipe will replicate ‘the unmistakable Domino’s taste millions of fans know and love.’

Aman Prasher, Domino’s Chief Vegan Dough Developer said: ‘Our vegan offering has been a while coming because we’re determined to make sure it’s full of our iconic Domino’s flavour.

‘We might not be first but we’re always the best – no compromises.

‘Our dedicated pizza chefs are incredibly excited for our fans to try this new and improved latest dough as we believe we’ve nailed it.

‘If they agree, and love it as much as we do, Domino’s will roll out nationwide. We’ve now busy working on some toppings and sides -so watch this space!’

Fans will also be able to customise their pizzas with any vegan friendly topping.

The trial range will be available in a medium size and will be complimented by Domino’s BBQ dip, and is priced the same as non-vegan equivalents.
