It isn’t the first time Adele has had to be careful of maintaining her distinctive voice, having undergone surgery on her vocal cords back in 2011.
She was forced to cancel a string of tour dates and promotional appearances after losing her voice.
A spokesman at the Massachusetts General Hospital said she underwent vocal chord microsurgery to stop recurrent bleeding from a benign polyp.
The condition is usually the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture.
