A photographer whose family were subject to a racist tirade outside of a Sydney restaurant has posted a video of the incident to social media.

Sydney man Demas Rusli posted the footage to his TikTok account with the caption, ‘This happened in Sydney last night while I was having dinner with my family.’

In the video the woman, who appears heavily affected by alcohol, asks Ms Rusli: ‘Are you telling me you belong here?’

She then points to the ground and says, ‘This is f***ing Australian land… Aboriginal land, Aboriginal land, f*** off!’

'She just started saying all this stuff - "Asians don't belong here, get out of this country" Demas Rusli said of the woman's abuse, which occurred in Kensington, Sydney, on Melbourne Cup day

The woman, dressed in a green dress, starts jabbing the air in the direction of Mr Rusli.

‘White people don’t belong here, you belong here less than white people… you f***ing c***s,’ she shouts, before walking off in the other direction.

Mr Rusli, a Sydney photographer who creates social media content for brands, said he was having dinner his family at an Indonesian restaurant in Kensington on Melbourne Cup day when the incident occurred.

‘The restaurant was next to the Doncaster Hotel and our table was right next to the window,’ Mr Rusli told Daily Mail Australia.

‘There were 10 of us, a pretty big family dinner, and then this lady just started knocking on the window.

‘She just started saying all this stuff – ‘Asians don’t belong here, get out of this country’.

‘We were shocked at what was happening and then she left but she came back three times and kept knocking on the window.

Mr Rusli said the woman was ‘definitely drunk’. He said he had never experienced such abuse since arriving in Australia from Indonesia in 1998.

‘I went to primary school, high school and university here,’ Mr Rusli said. ‘I’ve not experienced anything to this extreme, or even close to it.’

He said the incident marred a family dinner to farewell his parents back to Indonesia.

‘We were having dinner because we were out of lockdown and a lot of us hadn’t seen each for a while.’

Posted to Sydney’s Name and Shame Facebook page, the video drew comments condemning the woman’s behaviour.

‘She is a foul mouth racist and her name is bogan,’ one person wrote.

‘I think someone had a bit too much alcohol,’ posted another.

‘Lol, all the racist comments to call her out as racist,’ another person noted.

Mr Rusli said he refrained from making a police report about the incident.
