CARRIE Underwood has spoken out about her upcoming performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The country star was announced to sing America the Beautiful at the president-elect’s second inauguration on January 20.
Underwood, 41, confirmed the news with a statement on Monday.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” she said in a statement to USA Today.
“I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
She’ll be joined by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club during the performance.
Underwood has never publicly endorsed Trump.
It comes as the singer is replacing Katy Perry as the third judge on the upcoming season of American Idol.
