NFL player Jaylon Ferguson died as the result of a drug overdose, Day 2 of NBA free agency wasn’t nearly as busy as Day 1, but a big trade took place between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz. Let’s start with the NFL tonight.

Sad news out of the NFL world today. Baltimore Ravens defender Jaylon Ferguson was found dead. According to the Maryland Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, the death was ruled accidental and deemed to be caused by a combination of fentanyl and cocaine. Ferguson was 26 years old.

ESPN ranked all 32 NFL teams. The top five teams were: Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers. The NFL season begins September 8th.
NBA Roundup:
The biggest trade of the day: The Utah Jazz traded center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jared Vanderbilt, Walker Kessler, Leandro Bolmaro, and a whopping four first-round draft picks. The Jazz got a great return for Gobert, as the Timberwolves are banking on Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert to create a dominant force as a power forward/center duo. The Jazz have no plans on trading star guard Donovan Mitchell.
The Jazz have an interest in trading for center Deandre Ayton. Ayton and the Suns have not been able to agree on a contract extension thus far. The Jazz have also reached out to the Toronto Raptors about Gary Trent Jr,
The second biggest trade of the day: Malcolm Brogdon was traded to the Boston Celtics for Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Nik Stauskas, Malik Fitts, Juwan Morgan, and a 2023 first-round draft pick. This was a great trade for the Celtics, as they didn’t give up many role players and kept their core group while adding a solid role player who can play starter minutes.
The Atlanta Hawks traded Kevin Huerter to the Sacramento Kings for Justin Holiday, Mo Harkless, and a first-round pick. Huerter is a nice addition for the Kings, as they also added Malik Monk yesterday.
Zach Lavine signed a five-year, $215.2 million deal with the Chicago Bulls. Lavine has committed to a long-term with the Bulls after many teams showed interest in acquiring him.
Jusuf Nurkic signed a four-year, $70 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. Nurkic will remain a big part of the Blazers’ game plan.
John Wall signs a two-year, $13.2 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. Wall will team up with star forwards Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, forming a big three of their own.
LiAngelo Ball will participate in the NBA summer league with the Charlotte Hornets.

Donte DiVincenzo signed a two-year, $9.3 million deal with the Golden State Warriors.
Jalen Smith signed a two-year deal with the Indiana Pacers.
Bryn Forbes signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Damion Lee signed a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns.
Kevon Looney signed a three-year, $25.5 million deal to remain in Golden State. Looney was a big part of the Warriors’ championship run.
Robin Lopez signs a one-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Gary Payton II signed a three-year, $28 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers add a defensive-minded guard to play alongside star Damian Lillard.
The New York Knicks re-signed Mitchell Robinson on a four-year, $60 million deal. Since 1994, Robinson is the first Knicks draft pick to sign a second contract with the team.
Bruce Brown signed a two-year, $13 million+ deal with the Denver Nuggets.
Aaron Holiday signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks.
Bol Bol signed a two-year deal with the Orlando Magic.
Otto Porter Jr. signed a two-year deal with the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors add another 3-and-D player to the team.
Derrick Jones signed a two-year, $6.6 million deal with the Chicago Bulls.
Danillo Gallinari prefers to join the Boston Celtics once the San Antonio Spurs complete his release.
