Dennis Wolf Facts
- Born in the erstwhile USSR, Dennis and his family moved to Germany in 1992. When USSR began to disintegrate in 1990, his mother had seen this as an opportunity to return to her historic homeland in Germany, a dream of hers for several years.
- Upon reaching Germany though, Dennis had to deal with a lot of issues. He found it quite difficult to get by with zero knowledge of the German language. As there were no Russian-speaking classes, in the area that he lived in, where children could learn German, he had endured a lot of difficulty in making friends.
- Around the time he was 16, he had taken up martial arts which led to him developing an interest in weight training and bodybuilding. It was then that he had enrolled in a local gym in Marl, the German city where his family had settled.
- After completing his schooling, he started making a living by working several odd jobs including painting houses and installing windows.
- To seriously pursue a career in bodybuilding, he had started attending a lot of professional seminars, taking advice from pro bodybuilders, and studying a lot of literature on the topic.
- He eventually participated in his first competition in 1999 and stood 4th. Later that year, he had stood 2nd in the heavyweight division of the Newcomer IFBB (International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness) event.
- It was only after he became the German champion in 2003, though, that he had decided to devote himself entirely to bodybuilding. He became a professional in 2005.
- A polyglot, he is fluent in English, German, and Russian. He had also made a video about bodybuilding in Russian to acknowledge his Russian-speaking fans who had followed his career after discovering that he was born in the erstwhile USSR.
