TV PERSONALITY Eduardo Xol has died at age 58 a week after he was stabbed.
The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition star was in the hospital for a week before he died from his injuries in Palm Springs, California.
Xol died on Thursday afternoon, his family confirmed.
The interior designer called the cops after he was stabbed in an apartment complex on September 10, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
PSPD said he was rushed to the hospital and was listed in serious but stable condition hours after the attack.
He reportedly told officers he was stabbed – but didn’t identify who stabbed him.
Richard Joseph Gonzales, 34, was arrested in connection with the stabbing on the day it happened, according to local ABC affiliate KESQ.
He called the cops hours after the incident to report that he had been assaulted the night before, PSPD said.
Officers then identified Gonzales as a suspect in Xol’s stabbing.
The charges against Gonzales were upgraded from attempted murder to murder following Xol’s death, PSPD confirmed to The U.S. Sun.
Gonzales remains in custody at a detention center in Indio, a 30-minute drive from Palm Springs.
He is currently being held without bail.
