Joe Biden has officially launched his 2024 re-election campaign, and the GOP was quick to offer up its response shortly after.
The Republican National Committee’s response to Biden’s announcement was a first-of-its-kind video ad that utilized AI-generated images to depict a dystopian America should Biden win re-election.

“What if the weakest president we’ve ever had were re-elected?” the video asks viewers. “What happens if international tensions escalate? What if financial systems crumble? What if our border is gone? What if crime worsens?”
After asking all those questions, it concludes with “Beat Biden.”
According to Axios, the RNC has confirmed that this is the first 100% AI-generated video by the party. And it’s only going to continue.
Why it matters: AI-generated images are disrupting art, journalism, and now politics. The 2024 election is poised to be the first election with ads full ofimages generated by modern Artificial Intelligence software that are meant to look and feel real to voters.
- This is the first time the RNC has produced a video that is 100% AI, according to a spokesperson.
Zoom out: A variety of new AI systems such as Midjourney and OpenAI’s Dall-E 2 are making it increasingly easy to create digital art and images that are difficult to discern from human-created art and real photographs.
RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement along with the video that “Biden is so out-of-touch that after creating crisis after crisis, he thinks he deserves another four years.”
70% of Americans think Joe Biden should NOT run for reelection. We see through his lies.
We know his destructive agenda means more inflation, lower wages, higher crime rates, a worsening fentanyl crisis, and failing schools.

The GOP’s rapid response video and memo both lay out what the party’s general plan of attack against Biden will be: Economy, crime, and international tension.

And economy may be the biggest threat to Biden’s re-election bid. According to a poll from Gallup, 83 percent of American voters have a negative view of the economy. Meanwhile, a CNBC survey show that 70 percent are financially stressed and 58% are living paycheck to paycheck.
And, according to a CNN poll, 62 percent disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy. Only 32 percent say he deserves to be re-elected.
The GOP’s Path to Victory
But the Republican Party has one big hurdle of its own – a brewing bitter primary fight that includes former president Donald Trump.
Trump did respond to Biden’s re-election bid, saying “You could take the five worst presidents in American history, and put them together, and they would not have done the damage Joe Biden has done to our Nation in just a few short years.”
“Not even close,” he added.
“Thanks to Joe Biden’s socialist spending calamity, American families are being decimated by the worst inflation in half a century,” Trump began with his analysis of Biden’s presidency. “Banks are failing. Our currency is crashing and the dollar will soon no longer be the world standard, which will be our greatest defeat in over 200 years.”

“Under my leadership, we had the most secure border in U.S. history, by far. Never had a border like this. Under Biden, the Southern Border has been abolished—and millions of illegal aliens have been released into our communities. What’s happening now is beyond belief,” the 45th president explained. “They’re coming in from mental institutions and prisons. They are all being emptied. They are being dumped into the United States of America. Many of these people are very dangerous, they are being dumped. We are like a dumping ground.”
“Our cities have been overrun with homelessness, drug addicts, and violent criminals, who are being released from jail in mass with no retribution whatsoever, while law enforcement is weaponized against law-abiding conservatives or Republicans, or people they just don’t like,” the leading Republican candidate continued. “Our children are being indoctrinated and mutilated by left-wing freaks and zealots. The senior ranks of our military have gone completely woke, and our military is suffering greatly.”
Trump will be facing off against his former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina. He may also come face-to-face with his former vice president, Mike Pence, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Most of Trump’s fire has been on DeSantis of late.
The last major GOP primary featured more than a dozen candidates and a free-for-all that led to Donald Trump emerging as the last man standing. Eight years later, some in the Republican Party fear the same would happen – and others are rooting for it.
