The grief-stricken father of a motorist who was murdered by road-rage gangster Kenneth Noye killed himself hours after his dog died, an inquest has heard.
Kenneth Cameron, 75, took his own life by downing paracetamol and whisky in March of this year.
He was found in his retirement home flat by his brother Gary, before dying at a hospital in Ashford, Kent, just 24 hours later.
An inquest this week heard how Mr Cameron had been racked with depression since the 2016 death of his wife and retired nurse Toni.
He was also haunted by the 2019 release of road-rage killer Noye, 75, who murdered his son Stephen, 21, on an M25 slip road in Swanley, Kent, in 1996.
Mr Cameron and his wife had campaigned tirelessly to keep him behind bars.
Recording a verdict of suicide, coroner Katrina Hepburn said: ‘Mr Cameron’s mental health had been deteriorating since the death of his wife.

Mr Cameron was haunted by the 2019 release of road-rage killer Noye (pictured), 75, who murdered his son Stephen, 21, on an M25 slip road in Swanley, Kent, in 1996.
‘He had been particularly hit by the death of his dog.
‘When his brother went to see him he was found unconscious in his flat.’
The inquest heard that Mr Cameron was ‘upset that he had survived’ a heart attack in 2017.
Consultant Dr Debkuma Pandit told the Coroner he gathered Mr Cameron’s family together as his condition worsened.
Dr Pandit said: ‘His family mentioned that he was depressed for many years and that the death of his dog was the trigger for his suicide attempt.’
In a tragic twist, his wife Toni died in 2016 after contracting a superbug when she scratched her arm on a bush in the garden. Her ashes were interred at their son Stephen’s grave.
Mr Cameron said at the time: ‘They were so close in life that it seemed right to put them together in death.’
Noye, from Bexleyheath, south east London, stabbed a police officer to death at his home in West Kingsdown, Kent, in 1985.

He was under surveillance at the time and was that year cleared of murder after a jury ruled he was acting in self defence.

However a year later, in 1986, he was jailed for 14 years for conspiring to handle gold stolen from the infamous £26.3m Brinks Mat heist near Heathrow.
He had only been released for two years when he stabbed Mr Cameron to death during a shocking road rage attack in 1996.
Noye went on the run to Spain, sparking an international manhunt which ended in 1998 when he was tracked to Barbate, near the Costa del Sol.
He was handed a life sentence after being convicted of murder in 2000 before being allowed out on day release 17 years later.
Despite much campaigning from Mr Cameron’s parents, he was released in June 2019.
