How to Get Rid of Dark Circles Naturally ?

Dark circles are one of the most common results of aging that most of us dread but can hardly stop. 

In fact, dark circles are the greatest evils that are inevitable even after you have tried your best. Often emerging with bags, the dark circles can ruin your look massively and also take a toll on your level of confidence. 

The area under the eyes can look darker because of the constricted blood vessels which cause hyperpigmentation or form skin thinning all around the eyes.

Causes of Dark Circles Under the Eyes 

There are several causes that lead to dark circles under the eyes. Some of them are listed below.  

    • Poor habits of sleeping and lack of sleep
    • Genetics
    • Allergies that include Hay Fever 
    • Dehydration 
  • Over Exposure of the ultraviolet rays of the sun 

How to Do Away with the Dark Circles 

There are a variety of ways that people have reported to eliminate the appearance of the dark circles under the eyes. Each one of us differs from one another and so does their skin. That is why you have to test and try these remedies to know which one suits best for you. 

Take a look. 

Apply Coconut Oil –

The coconut oil consists of high concentration and small-chain fatty acids. The fatty acids can increase the blood circulation and reduce the inflammation – both of which lead to the dark under-eye circles.

Prior to hitting the bed, massage the cold-pressed virgin coconut oil that is of room temperature under each eye for 30 seconds. Remember, it could take a few seconds to see the results. Moreover, coconut oil happens to be easy-to-find and is quite affordable.

Sleep Well –

The sleeping hack can create a huge difference. When the pillows are too flat, the blood tends to collect in and around the eyes. So for draining the blood, you should start sleeping on the back with an extra pillow.

You can also go for digital detox for a couple of hours prior to going to sleep. If that is not possible, the night-mode on your mobile can really help. 

Soak with Tea Bags –

Application of cold tea bags to your eyes can enhance their appearance. Tea consists of antioxidants and caffeine that can assist to stimulate the circulation of blood, shrink the blood vessels and reduce the retention of liquid below the skin.

Soak 2 green and black bags in hot water for 5 minutes. You can chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes. Go for the application of the teabags after closing your eyes for about 20 minutes. After they are removed, use cold water to rinse the eyes. 

Apply the Vitamin E and Almond Oil –

The advocates of healing naturally suggest mixing equal amounts of vitamin E and almond oil and then just prior to bedtime massage the mixture gently upon the dark circles. The next morning, use cold water to wash the dark circles. Repeat this every night until the dark circles disappear. 

Tomatoes –

Tomatoes contain Lycopene, a pigment that is responsible for giving them the red and bright color in the supermarkets. Lycopene happens to be an antioxidant that decreases the inflammation and prevents the blood from clotting.

Research has revealed that lycopene helps to protect against the UV radiation which is one of the causes of dark circles. All you have to do is soak a couple of cotton balls in the juice squeezed from the tomato and then dab that under the eyes. Prior to rinsing this away just let the juice sit. 

Stay Hydrated –

If the body remains dehydrated then it tries to compensate for the lack of water by retaining the maximum amount of water possible resulting in under-eye bags and puffiness. That is why drinking the recommended amount of water is essential as it keeps the dark under eyes at bay while keeping the skin looking good.

Apply a Cold Compress –

A cold compress can assist to decrease the swelling and the dilated blood vessels that have started to shrink. This can reduce the puffy appearance and assist in eliminating dark circles. For this, just take a few ice cubes and wrap them up in a clean washcloth and apply them to the eyes.

A wash-cloth can also be dampened with cold water and then applied under the eyes for at least 20 minutes. If the ice melts or becomes warm, repeat the processing time and again. 

Apart from the above, you should also use a quality eye cream for dark circles every night prior to going to bed which will enable your eyes to keep looking beautiful and youthful devoid of dark circles for years together.
