Is Jessie Duarte Anekdota Dead? The ANC has dismissed reports that Secretary General Jessie Duarte has passed away.

There’ve been several reports circulating on social media and by some mainstream media outlets suggesting that Duarte had died following her being sick for some time.

The party said those spreading the fake news should take responsibility or it would approach relevant authorities over the matter.

Duarte has been on sick leave and Paul Mashatile has taken over the role in the meantime.

The ANC said Duarte was well and on the road to full recovery.

Death rumors about Jessie Duarte have been debunked by the African National Congress (ANC).

The ANC has denied allegations that its deputy secretary-general, Jessie Duarte, had died on social media.

The party condemned individuals spreading rumors about Duarte, who has been out of work for about six months due to health issues.

Party spokesman Pule Mabe called the rumors on social media “false news.”

“The ANC has learned with a great shock of fake news messages doing rounds that our deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte has passed away. These fake news messages are very inhumane, barbaric, inconsiderate, and very hurting to the person of the DSG, her family, friends, and comrades as well as to the broader mass democratic movement.

“The ANC categorically dismisses these nonsensical claims peddled by some through fake news messages across social and mainstream media platforms. The DSG has been ill for some time and is now well on the road to full recovery. The ANC is encouraged by the DSG, comrade Duarte’s display of strength on a daily basis, and look forward to her imminent return to the office,” said Mabe.

Those guilty for spreading the nasty and insensitive rumors, according to Mabe, should stop immediately.

Rumor-Mongers: Is Jessie Duarte Anekdota Dead?

He claimed that the rumor-mongers are instilling undue fear in the ANC and Duarte’s family, friends, and associates.

“However should the peddlers of the misleading rumors persist, the ANC will be left with no choice but to approach relevant authorities to investigate the origins and accordingly act upon those responsible.

“We are appreciative of the continued support that the family is giving to the DSG. We further commend our national officials, members of the national executive committee and all those who took their time to visit the DSG in person, and many others who continue to convey well wishes.

“The outpouring messages of support and prayers have contributed immensely to the DSG’s road to recovery. We also convey our words of gratitude to the medical team for their professional service.”

The ANC, according to Mabe, will continue to offer moral support to the DSG while also keeping the rest of the country informed on her recovery.

Since the ANC removed Ace Magashule last year, Duarte has been acting secretary-general, but her responsibilities have been taken over by treasurer-general Paul Mashatile and NEC member Gwen Ramakgopa while she recovers.
