JAIME King can only see her kids on supervised visits for four hours a week after losing custody over failing to complete a drug rehabilitation and parenting program, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
The actress is also only allowed to FaceTime with her two sons for 20-minute increments after her ex-husband, Kyle Newman, accused her of being a “chronic drug addict and alcoholic” in court papers.
Court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun show that Kyle, 49, was awarded full sole physical custody of their two sons, James Knight, 11, and Leo Thames, 9.
The movie director also has tie-breaker authority for legal custody of the kids.
Additionally, a judge has ruled that Jaime, 45, is only allowed to spend four hours a week with the kids and all time spent with her sons must be supervised.
Jaime is permitted to spend two hours with them on Tuesday’s from 4:30-6:30pm as well as Thursdays from 3:15-5:15pm.
The Hart of Dixie actress is also allowed to to spend four hours with the children every other Sunday.
She is permitted to FaceTime the kids on non-visitation days however, the calls are not able to exceed 20 mins.
Jaime is also only able to make video calls between 5:00-6:30pm – and is not allowed to call on Monday’s or Saturday’s whatsoever.
The ruling came after a Los Angeles County judge declared that Jaime failed to complete a series of programs she was ordered to partake in when the couple first filed for divorce in 2020 – resulting in a nasty court battle that followed in the years after.
According to court papers, Jaime failed to complete a 6 month drug/alcohol program that includes weekly drug testing.
She also did not complete an ordered 12-step program, 26-week parenting program, individual counseling or conjoint counseling with the kids’ therapist.
After the ruling this week, Jaime is expected to complete the programs as well as participate in weekly drug testing.
A source who has known the couple for years alleged to The U.S. Sun that Jaime is “devastated and embarrassed” by the ruling.
“She never thought it would go this far, she’s not handling this well. But Kyle did what had to be done.
“He didn’t feel his kids were safe and had to do what he needed to protect him and he did. He still has love for Jaime as the mother of his kids but just wants her to get help.
“All of Jaime’s friends want her to get better, her circle is worried about her.
“They’re hoping this is the tough wakeup call she needed to make some permanent changes,” the source claimed.
The insider added that Jaime is “a good mom when she is in the right headspace.”
‘CHRONIC DRUG ADDICT AND ALCOHOLIC’
The couple wed in 2007 and welcomed their two sons together before Kyle filed for divorce in 2020.
In court documents, Kyle claimed that Jaime was a “chronic drug addict and alcoholic” and allegedly abused opiates before their children were born.
He claimed as a result of this, their youngest son, Leo, was born “being addicted to opiates.”
In legal documents filed last year, Kyle claimed Jaime “looked distressed, strung out and was acting drunk.
“She gestured for me to come over to her because she tried to get up but could not stand,” while in the presence of their children.
Kyle stated that he and their loved ones staged an intervention for Jaime in 2020 and she briefly sought treatment at a Utah rehab center.
However, she claimed that “no drugs or alcohol were found in her system” and checked herself out shortly after.
The kids have remained in their father’s care in the years since.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Jaime and Kyle’s rep for comment.
