Kristin Cavallari, an American television personality, spoke out about her divorce from ex-husband Jay Cutler, calling it the “greatest thing” she has ever done. On an edition of The School of Greatness podcast on June 29, the 35-year-old actress shared how her divorce from the NFL star sparked her path to self-love.
“Getting a divorce is the scariest thing I’ve ever done.” But it’s been the finest thing I’ve ever done, and it’s really gotten me started on my road of self-love and discovering who I am today.”
The Laguna Beach star went on to say that her children inspired her to be the “greatest version” of herself.
“I can only be as good as I am to my children.” I can’t offer them anything if I’m empty. The ability to be energetic and love me in order to love on my children—to support and encourage them—is the most essential thing.”
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler divorced in 2020 and have three children: Camden, Saylor, and Jaxon.
Kristin Cavallari isn’t looking to date anybody after her divorce.

At the same time, she is curious to see who will appear in her life in the future.
“I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing who I can be in a new relationship since I feel like I’ve put in so much effort over the previous few years.” I’m not looking for a new relationship right now, but when I do, I’m excited to see how different I can be.”
Earlier on the show, the Hills star discussed how her divorce affected her life and how everything felt “sad” when going through it.
“What I’ve also discovered going through a divorce… [is that] even when we believe the world is coming apart, we’re always going to be this unhappy, everything is always going to be bad — we get through it… Then we look back and understand why everything occurred.”
Kristin Cavallari went on to say that as kids become older, they can understand how it all made sense. She went on to say that she is “eager” for what life has in store for her. Kristin Cavallari and Jay met in 2010 after a mutual acquaintance introduced them. They clicked right away, as the actress recalled in her 2016 biography, Balancing in Heels, as “nicely balancing each other out.”
After dating for eight months, they were engaged but called it off three months later. A source informed US Weekly at the time that Cutler had cold feet and ended things a week after their engagement celebration. According to Page Six, the Very Cavallari actress filed for divorce in April 2020 after Cutler was unable to find work after leaving the Bears in 2017 and had become “lazy and unproductive.”
