Meghan Markle gave birth to her second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor back in June. Towards the end of the summer, she and Prince Harry made their first public appearance since becoming a family of four, and both parents looked glowing. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since gone onto appear several times for different events and occasions, with Meghan choosing a short white mini dress to opting for a bold red dress on a matching red carpet, she oozes body confidence. Back in 2015, the former Suits actress discussed her healthy lifestyle and shared her “go-to smoothie”, as well as revealing the 21-day detox and cleanse program she favours which aids weight loss and boosts the immune system.

In terms of what juice or smoothie she would create, the Duchess revealed: “See below.

“I also do the same thing with frozen mango, a squeeze of lime, swap the cinnamon for turmeric (which has unbelievable healing properties) and just use coconut water. Nom nom nom!”

The ingredients for Meghan’s go-to smoothie are:

One packet of your shake powder of choice (I use Clean Cleanse vanilla)
Half a cup of frozen blueberries
One teaspoon of cinnamon
Some chia seeds
Half a cup almond milk
Half a cup of coconut water

To make the drink, she suggests: “Blend and enjoy.”

It has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and contains lots of antioxidants.

Its prebiotic properties may improve gut health, they also reduce blood pressure and like blueberries, they lower blood sugar

Chia seeds promote bone health and are good for the heart and lowering blood pressure.

They may also reduce the risk of diabetes and improve digestive health.

Almond milk and coconut water are not only diary-free and vegan, they are lower in calories and a great source of calcium and vitamins.

Meghan also shared her go-to health resources: “Dr Junger and Dhru Purohit – they have been my wellness coaches at the Clean Program for a couple years now.

“And Prescription for Nutritional Healing – I always reference that book to help fix what ails me.

“It’s awesome. My mom gives me an updated version every time they come out.”

The Duchess referenced Clean Program and their products twice during her interview with The Chalkboard Magazine.

The powder she uses to make her breakfast is part of Clean’s program which is a 21-day cleanse that sees participants consume shakes, healthy foods, and supplement in a bid to “allow the body to restore its natural ability to heal itself”.

It costs £355 ($475) and the program is said to increase energy levels, improve digestion and help with weight loss.
