Marks and Spencer have delighted fans by launching a range of new products for summer, including an ice cream which is only 62 calories a serving.

The upmarket grocer’s Count on Us Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream is both low in fat and calories and comes as the temperatures are set to soar across the UK.

It’s the first ever low calorie ice-cream for the supermarket, and will likely rival the likes of Halo Top, who offer tubs of ice cream for less 400 calories.

An M&S spokesperson told FEMAIL: ‘Whether you’re looking to lose weight or just fancy a lighter option, our Count on Us range has a healthy choice you’ll love, all the dishes in the range are low in fat and low in calories, but that doesn’t mean they skimp on taste’

The one litre tub has eight portions, and retails at £3, making it 496 calories for those who indulge in the entire carton.

As well as the low calorie ice-cream, Marks and Spencer have also brought back their extra thick salted caramel cream, which was a hit with shoppers at Christmas, and their pink gin cream which flew off shelves last summer.

The chain, which remains open during the pandemic, suggest serving it with handful of crushed meringue for the perfect DIY Eaton mess.
