  1. He was raised by a single mother because his father left his mother before Proof’s birth in order to pursue his career.
  2. With D12, Proof released the group’s debut studio album Devil’s Night on June 19, 2001, via Shady Records and Interscope Records. The album won the 2002 ECHO Award for “Best Hip-Hop/Urban Artist (International)” as well as peaked at number #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart and US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart. Also, it was certified ‘2× Platinum’ by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
  3. D12‘s 2nd and final studio album titled D12 World was released on April 27, 2004, and it peaked at number #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart as well as the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart.
  4. In 2002, Proof made his first theatrical film appearance as Lil’ Tic in the drama film 8 Mile. Named one of the best films of 2002 by several publications, the film stars Eminem, Mekhi Phifer, Brittany Murphy, Michael Shannon, Anthony Mackie, and Kim Basinger.
