The Barefoot Contessa’s hysterical take on Reese’s healthy self-care tips went viral and in her latest talk show episode, Drew Barrymore reached out to the Oscar winner for a response. 

Reese seems to be a great sport about the whole ordeal and was ready to bow down to Ina, who she called, ‘the queen of all things.’

Ina Garten wasted no time refining Reese Witherspoon’s self-care goals for 2022  with some ‘easier’ lifestyle tips of her own, like drinking more ‘large cosmos’, binge-watching and lounging in bed for as long as possible. 

The exchange had all of social media talking and Drew told her audience that she ‘had to get on the phone and text Reese Witherspoon.’

‘And guess what everybody, hot off the press, she responded,’ Barrymore told her audience. ‘Reese says, “Ina Garten is the queen of all things. Listen to her, not me. With a cute emoji.”

Drew added: ‘You know I got to say I think Reese’s and Ina’s list should have a baby and I want to follow that list….I can’t think of two greater women to follow then Reese & Ina.’

Reese lifestyle must-dos included starting each day with a big glass of water, getting outside for at least 10 minutes every morning, and spending 30-60 minutes reading without any distraction. 

She also said she tries to be in bed by 10pm every night and doesn’t let herself stay up late watching TV – to ensure she gets eight full hours of sleep. 

Ina, on the other hand, offered an alternative to her fans, writing in a comment left on the video: ‘To quote @reesewitherspoon – that sounds great but I’m probably not doing any of those things! LOL!! My formula is easier to follow.’ 

The beloved chef then proceeded to outline her four main goals for the new year, writing: ‘1. Drink more large cosmos 2. Stay up late watching addictive streaming series, 3. Stay in bed in the morning playing Sudoku instead of reading a good book. 4. Spend more time (safely) with people you love. In a pandemic, I do what I can!’

Her suggestion that people embrace 2022 as the year in which they ‘drink more large cosmos’ proved particularly popular with her fans – who pointed back to a viral video posted by Ina in March 2020 in which she educated her followers on how to mix-up an enormous version of the classic cosmopolitan cocktail.   

While posting the video, which was shared shortly after the US had gone into lockdown amid the early months of the coronavirus pandemic, the Food Network chef joked that ‘it’s always cocktail hour in a crisis’ while filming herself mixing up a massive jug filled with cosmo ingredients. 

At the time, the video earned Ina a legion of praise – just as her latest comment on Reese’s post has now done.

Another responded, ‘You had me at drink more large cosmos!’  ‘Yaaasss! Your formula is more my vibe than Reese’s!’ said someone else. A fourth commenter added, ‘Ina for President,’ while another message read, ‘I’m with Ina.’

In her Instagram post, Reese explained that she recently started to think about her routine after reading the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. 

‘I’ve been thinking a lot about habits lately, like walking the dog everyday. My friend sent me this book called Atomic Habits and it was really interesting,’ she explained.
