- stic.man was 21 years old when he was diagnosed with gout and following the diagnosis, he stopped drinking and smoking, started practicing Jeet Kune Do (an eclectic martial arts philosophy heavily influenced and adapted by the personal philosophy and experiences of Bruce Lee), and began following a vegan diet.
- With Dead Prez, he released the duo’s debut studio album Let’s Get Free on February 8, 2000, via Loud Records, and Rolling Stone gave the album 4 stars and praised its equation of “classrooms with jail cells, the projects with killing fields and everything from water to television with conduits for brainwashing by the system”. The album peaked at #22 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart and at #73 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
