New clothes or shoes are a way to express yourself and boost your confidence – but they don’t always come cheap.
16-year-old Xavier Hunt, who has autism, recently learned this when he picked out a pair of Air Jordan sneakers for his birthday.
The widely popular shoes usually come with a price tag of over $100, sometimes ringing up closer to $200.
When Xavier’s mom, Theresa, took him to the mall to pick out a birthday gift, she sadly turned him away from the shoes, explaining that they weren’t in the budget. But that didn’t stop them from shopping.
She helped him pick out a pair of cheaper shoes and they brought them up to the register. Usually, that would’ve been the end of their shopping trip, but something surprising happened.

A man, who was a complete stranger to Xavier and Theresa, walked up to the register with the exact pair of Air Jordans that they’d been looking at. He purchased the sneakers and gifted them to Xavier on the spot!
In an interview with ABC7, Theresa said, “I’m always blessing others, but to receive a blessing out of nowhere like that, it just feels good. It just gives me hope.”
It’s amazing what a kind act of generosity can do for someone.
