While Johannes appears to be unmarried, his dance partner John Whaite is not. According to rumors, he is engaged to his long-term boyfriend Paul Atkins, whom he met in Manchester in 2008. They got engaged in 2017.
Paul, John’s real-life boyfriend, is a graphic designer. He and John are thought to reside together in Leeds while not on Strictly.
