How Does the GE Opal Nugget Ice Maker Work?
This nugget ice maker is so easy to use. The first time we set it up, it took just about 10 to 15 minutes for the first ice nuggets to drop. I was so impressed that I immediately started grabbing some with the ice scooper instead of waiting for more. There are only three buttons (cleaning, light, and ice) so it’s very easy to manage. In total, making ice for drinks takes about 20 minutes, and the ice stays cool in the bin as long as you keep it turned on.
To use the GE Opal Nugget Ice Maker, I simply add water by removing the bin and pouring water (only use distilled) into the bottom jug layer. I then close the bin, press the “make ice” button, and done. Another cool thing I found is that my dog likes to chew this ice. This particular model comes with a side tank. I don’t have that attachment myself, as I have a small kitchen and limited counter space, so it works out best without the attachment. If you have a large family and are making ice constantly, however, it could be useful.
