While headaches are extremely common and many people experience them at some point in their lives, that doesn’t make them any easier to manage. Bothersome tension and pain in any part of your head can affect your mood, your work, and even your social life.

Give Acupressure A Try

Many charts show the acupressure points in our ears when we are babies in the fetal position, and there are many pressure points in our ears that correspond to different parts of our body.

Applying light pressure to a point just behind the earlobe can relieve headaches, and pressing the point in the upper center of the ear can relieve the tension that often accompanies migraines.

Avoid Smoked Foods

While smoked foods certainly taste delicious, it’s best not to buy a smoker if you suffer from headaches. Smoked foods are high in histamine, a chemical found naturally in the body that can cause headaches in some people.

Eliminating histamine-rich foods from your diet can help relieve frequent migraines.

Soothe Pain With A Cold Gel Pack

If your headache is so bad that you can barely stand up, applying cold or frozen compresses to your neck or head can help relieve irritating symptoms. Because it constricts blood vessels and decreases inflammation, applying an ice pack or cold gel pack to your head can reduce migraine pain.

Have Some Coffee

Many coffee lovers know that nothing can make morning headaches go away faster than a hot cup of coffee. In addition to improving your mood and helping you get through the day, drinking coffee has been shown to have a positive effect on headaches.

Just remember not to drink too much because caffeine withdrawal can cause migraines instead of helping relieve them.

Choose The Right Exercise

Staying active and exercising regularly is one of the best things you can do for your health, but if you’re familiar with irritating headaches, you may want to consider the type of exercise you choose.

Some high-impact activities, like lifting heavy weights, can cause a condition known as “weightlifter’s headache.” Milder exercises, on the other hand, can be helpful when it comes to migraines. For example, yoga can release tension in your body, which in turn reduces your risk of tension headaches.
