Dede Robertson, the wife of televangelist Pat Robertson and a founding board member of the Christian Broadcasting Network, died aged 94 on Tuesday 19th April 2022, at her home in Virginia Beach.
Dede’s death was first announced by the Christian Broadcasting Network and confirmed by her family. Pat, who is also a former Republican presidential candidate has been married to Adelia “Dede” Robertson, since 1954. Sadly today, 20 April 2022, it was announced that she had passed away.

Who is Dede Robertson?
Dede was born on 3rd December 1927 meaning she was 94 when she passed away. She was known as a nurse and author but was popularised for being a founding member of the Christian Broadcasting Network alongside her husband.
The couple met at Yale University in 1952, Dede had previously studied nursing at Ohio State University but was pursuing her master’s at Yale’s School of Nursing when they met. The young couple married on 27 August 1954, in Elkton, Maryland, and her first son, Tim, was born ten weeks later.

Throughout their 68-year marriage, Dede and Pat welcomed four children together. Their first son Tim was soon followed by Elizabeth Faith who was born in 1956, then Gordon Perry who arrived in 1958 and finally Ann Willis, born in 1963.

Dede raised her kids and started working as a nursing professor after they all started school. She has a large family who is currently mourning her death, including her 14 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. In an interview with CBN, she said her ‘greatest personal accomplishment’ was ‘raising four children’ she continued that she is, ‘very proud’ of all of them.
Their youngest son, Gordon, is the current CEO of Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and founded CBN Asia. He also leads Operation Blessing which is CBN’s humanitarian organisation. Gordon is a part-time host of The 700 Club, which was a chat show started by his father. Pat ran the flagship programme for more than 50 years before allowing his son to take over. Gordon and his wife, Katharyn Robertson, have three adult children and reside in Virginia.
Tim is the eldest child and took over CBN in the late ’80s when his father ran his presidential campaign. He has since followed in their footsteps and become the chief executive of International Family Entertainment Inc. Tim is married to author Lisa N. Robertson, with whom he shares five children, they also have ten grandchildren.

Tim shared a heartwarming tribute to his mother: “I think the thing that’s been wonderful for all of us children to see was the extraordinary growth in my parents… as they got older, it seems like they were getting closer together… there was a sweetness and a gentleness in both of them. That was a great example for us kids to see.”
Their daughters lead a rather private life but remain following the Christian faith. Her daughter Ann shared her appreciation for her mother, revealing: ‘My mom was a rock. She was a rock throughout our childhood. Dad had to travel a lot, but Mom was always there for us kids… that gives great security to children.’
