Moret escaped from the Valdosta Transition Center, according to WCTV. Georgia Department of Corrections records obtained by the TV station say Moret is serving time for murder and armed robbery dating back to the 1970s. He is also reported to have two previous jailbreak convictions from 1976 and 1985.
The Georgia Department of Corrections issued a warning Friday for state residents, urging them not to get close to Moret.
Soldiers arrested Moret without incident and transported him to the Charlotte County Jail.
Moret now awaits extradition back to Georgia. No further details were available on Saturday morning.
