David Bonola, 44, who was indicted on a murder charge in the cruel April 16 slaying, also told detectives that Gaal, a married mother of two, “was cheating on me,” the court file says. the Supreme Court of Queens.
“She gave me HIV,” Bonola allegedly told detectives at the 112th Precinct on April 20. “She lied to me, she used me. She told me that she loved me. She couldn’t be with just one person.”
Bonola also claimed that Gaal “received a phone call from another guy” and “said she was going to see him,” without specifying when, according to court documents.
“That made me angry. She couldn’t accept it,” she allegedly said.
The married father from Richmond Hill, who entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico 21 years ago, is accused of following Gaal to his home early on April 16 and getting into a violent argument, before stabbing her.
Police said Gaal, a 51-year-old mother of two, went to a show at Lincoln Center with friends on April 15, then stopped by herself at a local bar and ordered “her usual Moscow mule,” said a bartender to The Post. .
She arrived home around 00:30, followed by her killer.
“I knocked on her door,” Bonola, a heating and air conditioning repairman who had worked for Gaal’s family, allegedly told police after being detained.

She said Gaal told her her affair was over and she “grabbed the knife and told him to get out of her house or she would kill him.
“I grabbed the knife and cut his throat,” Bonola allegedly told police. “She kept fighting and we fell. She was moving and trying to grab me, so I stabbed her in the neck so she would stop attacking me.”
She allegedly said she cleaned the house with towels and put them in her son’s hockey duffel bag, which was dumped less than a mile from the house.
“In the past, she told me that she had sent a man to jail, so I texted her husband pretending to be that guy because she was scared,” Bonola allegedly said. “I took her laptop because she had sex videos on the laptop. I threw her laptop in the Hudson River, where I used to visit her.”
He was arrested on April 21 and charged with murder in the case and gave police a “hands-on” confession to the murder, the sources said.
In court last week, prosecutors said Gaal let Bonola into the Tudor-style home before the two got into a fight and Bonola allegedly killed her.
Bonola is in protective custody without bond. Her attorney did not return a message.
“This heinous murder left two teenage girls motherless and terrorized an entire community,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.
