EASTENDERS star Martine McCutcheon has spoken of her heartbreak after her brother died “suddenly” just weeks before they were to be married.
The actress revealed today that her LJ’s brother, Laurence John, has passed away “without medical explanation” at the age of 31.
She shared the news on Instagram, along with two photos of her and her brother.
She wrote: “My heart is forever broken…
“My little brother, my gentle giant, sadly passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago. He was 31 years old.
“There is no medical explanation for why we lost him so soon, and as we investigate further, we have to accept that nothing will bring our son back to us.”
Martine said that her little brother was getting married next month.
She explained: “I was asked to make her the maid of honor and the last time I saw it was a few days before she passed away.
“He, Jack and his soon-to-be stepson went to try on their wedding suits and then came back for dinner with his fiancée and family to see our new home.
He looked so tanned and tall and handsome. The best I’ve seen. really ironic.

“My heart aches for everyone who has lost him. But my heart breaks for our mother, her father John and her step-parents. You must never outlive your children.”
“I’m scared to live without you LJ, but I know you’ll want us to truly live, laugh and love in your memory. I’ll try, I promise.”
Messages of support poured in from friends like broadcaster Clara Amfo, reality TV personality Billie Faiers, and singer/host Myleene Klass.
It comes after Martine posted a rare photo of the couple last year and said how “proud” she was after their matches.
Alongside the heartwarming photo, she wrote, “Happy 30th birthday to my little (older) brother LJ!
“I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and who you’ve become, come hell or high water.”
Martine spoke about her brother’s battle with his “special needs” and his determination to lead a “normal life.”
She continued, “You came into my world when I was 15 years old and I adored you from the moment I first hugged you.
