                    Jody Simpson Biography

Who was Jody Simpson?

Tony Hudgell’s biological parents, Jody Simpson, 24, and Anthony Smith, 47, were sentenced to ten years in prison in February 2018, but the couple only served five years.
This is despite the fact that Tony’s adoptive mother, Paula Hudgell, 54, won harsher punishments for child molesters.

Tony, now seven years old, broke his fingers and toes, tore ligaments and contracted sepsis after his biological parents left him to suffer for ten days before taking him to hospital.

Anthony Smith  and Jody Simpson  were found guilty of attacking Tony when he was just 41 days old. They were sentenced to ten years in prison, but will soon be released after serving only five.

Death

The baby was near death when doctors first saw him, and due to the extreme level of abuse he suffered, both of his legs had to be amputated.

Ms Hudgell described Tony’s release from his abusers as “disgusting” and feels “like a punch to the stomach”.

She told The Mirror: “These monsters have spent just five years behind bars, while Tony faces a lifetime of challenges as a result of his evil.

They don’t go to the parole board and they don’t have to show any remorse to walk free. It’s like a punch in the stomach and it makes me sick to know that those who abuse babies and children walk free in a few years.

These monsters could be living on your street and you would have no idea.

Simpson and Smith are automatically released halfway through their sentences, which at the time was the harshest sentence they could receive, the least time they spent in pretrial detention.

According to Mrs. Hudgell, Tony is “mad” that they will soon be free and he wants to join the police when he is older to re-arrest them.
