Yolanda Saldana Feliz, 53, was stabbed to death in a Newham home shortly after 3:30 a.m. on October 23, while a 30-year-old woman was also stabbed during the same incident.

Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino, 38, was named a suspect, as police launched a murder investigation.

Last Friday, detectives noticed the body of a man in a river near Blaker Road, Stratford.

The body was pulled from the water and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Formal identification has yet to take place, reports MyLondon.

However, Metropolitan Police officers were certain that the body is that of Florentino, and his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious.

Yolanda was stabbed to death in a house on Windmill Lane, while the other stabbed woman remains in hospital where she is recovering from serious injuries.

Yolanda and the second victim knew Florentino, police said.

Last Wednesday, the police issued a public appeal naming and presenting Florentino as a suspect in the murder investigation.

As part of his investigation, at 7:30 p.m. m. Friday, detectives noticed a body in the river.

The relatives of the deceased have been informed of his death.

In the meantime, Yolanda’s family have been made aware of this development in the Met murder investigation and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
