With so many weight loss diet plans on the market, it can be hard to know which one is suitable. To achieve her incredible 4st 4lbs weight loss in only three months, Claire followed The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan which is a meal replacement programme. It uses formula food soups, shakes as well as bars and nutritional meals.

The aim of the diet plan is to help slimmers achieve their goals by providing them with a lower dietary energy intake.

This tends to be lower than on a conventional reducing diet.

Although not suitable for everyone, the diet plan is formulated to provide slimmers with a balanced diet, providing all the protein and essential nutrients needed.

Claire, mum-of-two from Devon, started the diet plan in the build up to her big day in November 2020, after being recommended the plan by a friend.

She explained: “I’d been getting increasingly larger and one day I stood on the scales and was horrified! I was fed up with feeling uncomfortable and the warm summer weather was making everything so much worse – I was a hot mess.

“With my wedding fast approaching, and as we headed into the first lockdown in 2020, I decided to book my first appointment with my local consultant, Mel Hitchcock.

“As soon as I met Mel, I knew I’d made the right decision – we set my weight loss targets and I was determined! I found it easy to stay on track during lockdown as we weren’t able to go out for dinner or have any of those usual temptations in front of me.”

Following the plan helped Claire achieve her incredible weight loss, taking the slimmer to 11st 6lbs.

She added: “In the lead up to my wedding, and across the various dress fittings, my seamstress had to take my dress in by a whole nine inches – I was amazed – especially seeing it there in front of me!”

The pandemic meant that Claire’s original wedding date of May 2020 was cancelled and she and her fiancé, Gary, have now attempted to reschedule the big day five times.

The couple were finally able to plan an impromptu celebration with their closest friends and family back in November.

Claire said: “It was a really special day – we just took our chance and went for it with our 15 closest family and friends. It was a beautiful sunny day, really relaxed and peaceful.

“I felt fantastic in my dress – I couldn’t have been happier or more confident with the way I looked.

“Not only that, but I’m coming out of lockdown as a healthier, happier, more confident person. I feel so much better for losing the weight!”

Since her incredible achievement, Claire explained that she found her first clothes shopping experience an emotional one.

“I cried in the toilets in Sainsbury’s – I went in for some new clothes and I was shocked by my transformation,” she said.

Claire had dropped from a size 18 to a size 12 in just three months.

She added: “I tried on some size 12 shorts, and they just slipped on so easily. I burst into tears – I couldn’t believe it!”

The couple are now planning their full wedding celebrations in September 2021, and Claire has even now become a 1:1 Diet consultant herself.

She is currently in the process of helping her two bridesmaids lose four stone each.
