Zac Stubblety-Cook Facts

  1. Until the age of 4, Zac was very scared of going near the water. Hence, he started to learn to swim in order to save his life if he ever fell into the water by accident. However, by the age of 9, he had developed a passion for the sport and already knew that it was something that he wanted to take up professionally.
  2. Zac was diagnosed with a shoulder tumor in 2015, which required surgery.
  3. In his free time, Zac enjoys “Cooking, particularly meat dishes”.
  4. The earliest post that Zac uploaded to his Instagram account was on March 6, 2015.
  5. He specializes in breaststroke.
  6. In 2021, he competed in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. During the event, he won a gold medal and set an Olympic record in the latter event.
  7. Zac was awarded the “Medal of the Order of Australia” at the 2022 Australia Day Honours Stubblety-Cook.
  8. He considers Japanese fellow retired breaststroke to be his idol.
