Spencer Matthews says quitting alcohol has made him more ‘caring’ and enabled him to focus on the ‘selflessness’ of parenthood.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 33, made a conscious decision to give up drinking in 2018, while wife Vogue Williams, 36, was pregnant the couple’s first child, Theodore, now three.
And he admits the positive impact sobriety has had on his health and wellbeing made him regret not giving up alcohol at an earlier stage in his life.

He told The Times: ‘Stopping has made a very big difference to my life. One of my regrets is that it would have been great to understand sobriety and done it earlier.
‘I’m far more driven and caring. I set up a brand [CleanCo] for people who want to cut back on alcohol in 2019. I see myself as an entrepreneur, not an entertainer.’
Spencer is now a father-of-two following the birth of 17-month old daughter Gigi in July 2020, with the couple expecting their third child – a boy – in the new year.

The TV personality opted to give up drinking shortly after marrying Irish presenter Vogue at his family’s Glen Affric estate in the Scottish Highlands, and she insists his sobriety has strengthened their relationship.
She explained: ‘Drinking’s not really a part of our lives any more, which is a good thing. Spenny would always drink a lot more than me. I don’t really like the taste of alcohol.
Ice and a slice please: Spencer settles down with a glass of Coke. He has been sober for more than three years and has never regretted the decision to stop drinking
‘He came to the realisation himself but I definitely encouraged it. I don’t think he’d be doing any of what he’s doing today had he not stopped.
‘It was affecting his productivity and his focus. It’s been a positive thing for our relationship.’
Spencer and Vogue announced they were expecting their third child in October and have since confirmed the sex of their baby, which is due in the spring.
Here comes trouble: Theodore and Gigi will soon have a baby brother, with mum Vogue expected to give birth in the spring
Speaking to HELLO! magazine in December, Vogue said: ‘Baby number three on the way!!! This has been a lot harder to hide third time around, I feel like I’ve had a bump since the first month.
‘If you’d have told me a few years ago that by the age of 33 I’d have three beautiful children with the woman of my dreams I WOULD have believed you because that was always the plan….
‘Having said that I feel fortunate every day for what we have. Family is EVERYTHING.’
