Who was Jason Weaver ?
Big Daddy Weave bassist Jason Weaver died of complications from COVID-19. He was 42 years old.
His brother Mike announced the sad news on social media on Sunday.
In a two-minute clip, Mike expressed his sadness over the passing of his brother, as well as his gratitude to fans for his prayers.
“Jay went to be with Jesus a couple hours ago,” Mike said. “I’m sorry to bring this news, but I’m excited to celebrate where he is now. My brother Jay went to be with Jesus a couple hours ago.
“You have seen him walk the battle uphill and you helped carry him through many things,” he continued. “Even though COVID took the last breath from him, Jesus was there to catch him.”
Big Daddy Weave is a Christian band that was formed in 1998 and consisted of Mike, Jay, and members Joe Shirk, Jeremy Redmon, and Brian Beihl.

Christian musician Jay Weaver died at 42 from complications of COVID-19.
The band’s label, Curb Records, confirmed Jay’s death in a statement Monday. “We are devastated by this loss and we trust that the Lord will guide us through this difficult time,” the statement said. “All of his thoughts, prayers and support from him have been and continue to be deeply appreciated.”
“My heart is broken [n] for my family here, but also for Jay’s family in Florida. But we all really wanted to thank them for being with us for so long, you know, for so long, ”Mike added in his video.
“The Lord used him in such a powerful way on the road for many years. And anyone who has come into contact with him knows how real his faith in Jesus was, ”he said of his brother’s faith. “Prayers for healing can now be turned into prayers of thanksgiving now that Jay is in the presence of God.”
Family
Jay was hospitalized in late December due to complications from the coronavirus. He is survived by his wife Emily and his three children, Makenzie, Madison and Nathan Weaver.
Christian radio station K-Love shared their condolences on social media Sunday, writing, “Our hearts are sad to hear that Jay Weaver, former Big Daddy Weave bassist, passed away. Join us as we pray for Jay’s wife, his three children, and the Weaver family. “
