She explained in the first episode of her new show: ‘The house was broken into, I had friends betraying me, we’ve had two dogs that died here, a horse that died here, just a lot of horrible, horrible stuff here, I can’t tell you how much I hated this house.
‘My head was in such a bad place, I just could not live here. I could not even walk through my front door it would give me anxiety like you wouldn’t believe, then the kids didn’t want to be here.’
While renovations take place on Katie’s £2 million West Sussex home, the former glamour model’s horses are stabled at a neighbour’s house.
Visiting her beloved animals in their stalls, Katie candidly opened up about just how much they mean to her and how vital a role they played in her recovery.

She explained: ‘I just love horses. [They] kept me off the streets, kept me away from boys.
‘I spent hours grooming them, cutting up their carrots, making their beds all nice. I just loved it, and I still love it.’
She went on: ‘When I was in The Priory, they get in your head to find a safe place. If you’ve had trauma and you have therapy, they make you go through the trauma you’ve had [and] there’s always a safe place.
