The 2022 NAACP Image Awards is right around the corner and Marsai Martin, Celina Smith, and more are nominated!
BET will broadcast the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, February 26, 2022. The awards are set to honor outstanding representations and achievements from people of color in more than 80 categories. Some of the categories include film, television, music, streaming, podcasts, and literature all created during the 2021 calendar year.
“We are thrilled to recognize this year’s nominees, who have all brought dynamic, entertaining, and thought-provoking content to our attention through their incredible work in film, television, music and more,” said NAACP Image Awards Committee chairperson Karen Boykin-Towns in a recent statement.

Celina Smith – Annie Live! (NBC)
Elisha ‘EJ’ Williams – The Wonder Years (ABC)

Eris Baker – This Is Us (NBC)
Miles Brown – Black-ish (ABC)
Marsia Martin is nominated in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series alongside Amanda Seales (Insecure, HBO), Jenifer Lewis (Black-ish, ABC), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure, HBO), and Wanda Sykes (The Upshaws, Netflix).
BET and the annual NAACP image awards has had a longstanding relationship when it comes to celebrating Black excellence and achievement. And of course, the partnership continues with the 53rd annual awards show.
