Maralee Nichols is ready to share the name she and Tristan Thompson have chosen for their baby. Theo is the moniker the fitness model and star athlete have given their son. Maralee took to Instagram on Wednesday (Feb. 23) to reveal her little one’s name.
“Theo, my little angel baby. I named you Theo because it means, ‘Gift from God,’” Maralee wrote to her son. “I had never been pregnant before and had been told I might not be able to have children,” the fitness model revealed in her Instagram post.
Maralee Nichols and Tristan Thompson welcomed their son on December 1, 2021. Theo was born in Santa Monica, California, weeks after the public learned of Tristan fathering another child. The NBA player confirmed his expectancy as the public began to embrace the notion of Thompson and Nichols having relations.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” Tristan said in a statement to the press. “I take full responsibility for my actions,” the celebrity father told his supporters and critics. “Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”

Several legal experts speculated that child support for Maralee Nichols could be well over $400,000 per year. A representative for the fitness model, however, recently made it clear that, despite such reports, Tristan has not begun making child support payments for Theo.
Regardless of the challenges that Maralee and Tristan may face while determining the best way to co-parent their son, Nichols remains grateful for her life as a mom.
“I couldn’t believe I was pregnant,” Maralee told her son in her Instagram message on Wednesday. “When I saw you on the ultrasound and heard your little heartbeat, I knew I would always protect you and keep you safe,” the fitness model shared. “I love you more than you’ll ever know,” Maralee wrote to her son. “You bring such joy and happiness into my life. My greatest blessing.”
