Narendra Gill Biography
Who was Narendra Gill?
Narendra Gill, 52, stole retired delivery boy Frank Gowland, 81,’s lucky ticket after checking it out at his shop in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Gowland didn’t realize he had won the prize with his ticket, which had five winning numbers and a lucky star, until police told him it had been stolen.
Staff at Camelot, which runs the lottery, surprised her when they overheard her trying to verify the ticket over the phone while she was serving customers at her GT News store.
CCTV footage
Camelot called police who reviewed CCTV footage and saw Gowland get into a car at the mall with his 77-year-old wife Sue.
He told The Sun: ‘It’s all been a huge shock.
‘I had no idea I had won until I got this phone call. I couldn’t hear what the PC was saying, so I asked my stepson to take care of it.

He told the officer, “You must be kidding, this is a scam.” Anyway, it didn’t happen and I had won.
Gowland, who wears hearing aids, said Gill returned eight crumpled tickets to him after he asked him to look through them.
She sent them back telling the retiree they were all losers, but she took the winning ticket, which was one of two that won £130,928 after the £46m jackpot rolled over on May 4.
Her winning numbers were 3, 10, 13, 28, 46, with one of 4 and 11 winning one of the Lucky Stars.
The father-of-two finally received his payment in November last year and has since bought a new car and a shower for his wife, who has health problems.
Gill, from York, was jailed for 28 months at Leeds Crown Court yesterday after admitting theft and fraud.
