When your own side is continually ripping you, you know you’re in trouble. West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is at it once again, this time slamming the Biden administration’s handling of surging inflation.

On Tuesday he posted a statement to Twitter reading:

When will this end? It is a disservice to the American people to act as if inflation is a new phenomenon. The Federal Reserve and the administration failed to act fast enough, and today’s data is a snapshot in time of the consequences being felt across the country.

This is far from the first time Manchin has slammed his own party, as we’ve been reporting. It comes as the United States is facing the worst inflation in 40 years.  As RedState’s Bonchie writes.

Seeing the latest inflation number clock in at 8.5 percent year-over-year overall (a number that is misleadingly low given what things are bought most often) is absolutely crushing, not just because of what it tells us about March of 2022, but because it shows the trend isn’t slowing down. If you think things are bad now, just wait until the summer months.

It leads one to wonder if there are other unhappy Democrats who are holding their tongues for now.  According to consulting firm Lee Resources, “for every customer complaint there are 26 other unhappy customers who have remained silent.”  That means there are probably a whole lot of freaked-out Dem congressmen and women out there who are terrified of losing their seats come November, and who may jump ship between now and then. Indeed, some Democrat politicians are in open rebellion over the decision to lift Title 42 in May, which is widely expected to bring on a new wave of immigration.  Even Vox is reporting it:

A new fissure is emerging among Democrats: After the Biden administration finally ended pandemic-era border restrictions that have allowed the US to expel hundreds of thousands of migrants to Mexico, moderate Democrats rebelled, joining with Republicans in demanding they be reinstated.

The media appear to be in full-on panic mode too. MSNBC’s Stephie Ruhle, echoing other liberal outlets:

It ain’t good. When you look at these numbers year over year, you said it, we have not been in this place in over 40 years. And the biggest increases, it’s gas, it’s rent, it’s food. All the things you need to buy every day. So the people who are already the most economically vulnerable are going to be hit the hardest.

When Biden cheerleaders Vox and MSNBC are worried, you better be very nervous, Uncle Joe.

The Biden presidency has wreaked havoc on this country for over a year now, and sometimes it’s easy to forget that it could be so much worse. If it weren’t for Manchin (and Arizona Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema) putting a stop to some of the more extreme proposals coming from the Biden Administration, we’d really be up the creek. I just wish they’d switch parties already. The good news is that those two are providing cover for other similarly inclined colleagues who don’t want America to get completely flushed down the toilet.

How do I know that? Just look at the wave of Democrat congressional retirements. Even the captain of the Titanic could see this one coming.
