The head of Russia’s space agency delivered a personal threat to Elon Musk on social media Sunday night. The new owner of Twitter responded in his trademark fashion – tongue in cheek. That’s when Maye Musk, Elon’s mom, got involved. Let’s just say Maye is not amused.
The war of words is nothing new for Dmitry Rogozin, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, and Musk. Rogozin has been going after Musk since Putin’s invasion into Ukraine. Musk has been providing Starlink satellite internet connections to dishes in Ukraine, allowing them to stay connected to the outside world as they shelter against Russian forces. Starlink’s presence is strong in Ukraine and allows the country to remain online. Rogozin accuses Musk of giving Starlink equipment to the ‘Nazi Azov Battalion’ and to branches of the Ukrainian military. Rogozin threatened Musk for providing the internet service to Ukraine.
The timing of Rogozin’s personal threat to Musk was odd. Earlier in the day he boasted that Russia can destroy all NATO countries “in half a hour.”
Musk did what he does – he tweeted out the threat from Rogozin. Rogozin made the statement to Musk himself, Musk said, which was posted on Telegram. Musk said that they “resisted hacking and jamming attempts” from Russians in April. He said he is focusing SpaceX efforts on counter measures.
‘From the testimony of the captured chief of staff of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Dmitry Kormyankov, it follows that the ground-based subscriber equipment of the Starlink satellite company Elon Musk was delivered to the militants of the Nazi Azov Battalion and the Marines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Mariupol by military helicopters,’ Rogozin wrote.
Elon Musk is thus involved with supplying the fascist forces in Ukraine with military communications,’ Rogozin adds. ‘And for this you will have to answer in an adult way, Elon, no matter how much you’ll play the fool.’
As well as responding to attacks, officials say Starlink is giving Ukrainian forces the edge in winning the drone war as the nation fights back with technology to track down invading Russians.

Musk replied. I saw what looked to me to be a random tweet from him last night and thought perhaps he had gotten sideways with the Clintons I’m joking. Kinda.

His mother responded to her son’s glib tweet.

Elon apologized by tweeting, “Sorry! I will do my best to stay alive.”
It’s all fun and games until Mom gets involved. It’s clear that Elon got his spunky spirit from her. She is 74 years young and still working as a model. She has endured obstacles and come out on top as a young single mom to Elon and his two siblings. She restarted her modeling career after retiring for a couple of years in her sixties. You may have seen the pictures of her and Elon at the Met Gala this year. She wanted to go so Elon took her.

When the NYT hit piece tried to link Elon to apartheid, Maye hit back.
In South Africa, if you publicly opposed apartheid, you went to jail. In Russia, if you publicly oppose the war, you go to jail. @nytimes are you going to blame children for decisions made by governments? #StopTheWar 🇺🇦 https://t.co/4wJt1ui0st

You get the picture. She’s enjoyed a 50 year modeling career and she is also a dietician and author. She has a new book out now. I think the moral of the story is don’t mess with Maye.
Rogozin has called Musk a ‘little devil’ and criticized the Tesla Cybertruck. He mocked Musk for buying Twitter by calling him “moneybags” and mocking the idea of free speech on the social media platform. Rogozin sounds like a Democrat. Musk tweeted, “There are no angels in war.”
I assume Musk has the best security team that money can buy, at least I hope so. The upper level of Russian officials are brutal and show little regard for human life. Threats should be taken seriously as Putin gets more desperate over his humiliating lack of success in his war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Elon seems fine today. He tweeted about how good chocolate milk is so it looks like it’s just another day for the world’s richest person.
