Three people have died in a crash on Long Island and police say the driver who caused it was intoxicated.
According to police, the 22-year-old drunk driver crashed into a Lincoln Town Car on the Jericho Turnpike in New Hype Park, killing three women inside the Lincoln, CBS2’s Christina Fan reported Sunday.
Surveillance video shared with CBS2 shows the driver of the Lincoln slowly trying to make a left turn onto Jericho Turnpike when a Mercedes crashed into him. The impact sent both cars flying down the street.
Three women died in the back seat of the Lincoln. The driver and two other passengers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
A witness, who works at the nearby Table 7 restaurant, said he heard a loud bang around 11 p.m. on Saturday, he ran out, saw the wrecked cars and called 911.
“Immediately, I saw a Mercedes-Benz come crashing into an Uber driver who was turning. It looked like a T-bone, a little bit, and it was devastating. They were, like, old people who were there.” really sad,” he said.
Arrested and Charged
Police arrested Dante Lennon, 22, of Freeport. Lennon is charged with three counts of vehicular manslaughter and DWI.

Lennon’s injuries are not considered life-threatening and he will be processed as soon as medically possible, police said.
Investigation
An investigation led to the arrest of Dante Lennon, 22, of Freeport, who was the driver of the Mercedes-Benz.
He has been charged with three counts of vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated.
He was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening to him.
