President Donald Trump held a rally Saturday in Casper, Wyoming, to finish off the re-election bid of Rep. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) and endorse her opponent in the primary, Harriet Hageman. The rally was packed when he was speaking. There were plenty of videos to confirm it.

But I noticed as I was covering the event last night, that folks on the left were trying to spread shots of the arena before Trump got there — before most of the people had gotten there — claiming that the rally was not full and was a “failure.” But that’s random people on the internet; you wouldn’t think that ‘journalists’ would try to spread that bilge. Well, unless you haven’t been watching the media melt down and burn all their credibility for the last several years.
But Twitchy picked up a story that shows what a failure “journalists” are at even the most basic fundamentals of journalism.
Liberal rag Raw Story ran the claim that Trump couldn’t fill the arena as a “breaking story.” How desperate are they to dunk on the man? He’s still living rent-free in their head.

Trump fails to fill Wyoming arena at rally against Liz Cheney: report #TrumpRally

What did they base that story on? A tweet from a guy from the St. Louis Trib, Bryan Schott, that was posted at 1:39 p.m., showing the arena at that point.
We are about 30 minutes from showtime at the Trump rally in Casper and there are A LOT of empty seats in the arena.
There’s still a line outside, but I’m not sure how many people are waiting to get in #utpol pic.twitter.com/XPCXHSfyxy

But Trump wasn’t speaking until 4:00 p.m., not 2:00 p.m., and Schott even notes he doesn’t know how many people were still in line waiting to get in. Answer: a lot.

But Raw Story was more focused on the narrative than on the reality. Had they just bothered to check the many videos and shots from the arena from RSB, Newsmax, or any number of other local sources they could have checked their facts. But they apparently didn’t bother to do that and posted a tweet with their story at 5:33 p.m.
But Schott later updated his report at 6:33 p.m., noting he hadn’t been able to post an update earlier, and explaining that the arena was packed.
The network here at the arena has been slow as hell, so I haven’t had a chance to update this.
The house was PACKED when Trump hit the stage about 4:40 pm #utpol https://t.co/LdVklUFikj

Cell reception was shit once the rally got going, so I couldn’t update.
The house was PACKED with about 11k people.
Just needed to square that circle.

A Trump rally in Casper on Saturday afternoon saw nearly 10,000 Trump supporters from around the region pack into the Ford Wyoming Center and thousands more gather outside the arena to cheer the 45th president of the United States and push for more conservative values represented in politics.
So, what did they do, once they learned that they were wrong? They “updated” the story, rather than just pulling it, and changed the headline to a weaselly effort to still take a whack at Trump, “Trump finally filled Wyoming arena at rally against Liz Cheney: report.” But the tweet that they put up is still up and still misleading people, which shows they don’t have a lot of ethics.
On top of the packed crowd, the numbers are showing Cheney 30 points behind Hageman at this point, with the primary in August. So, Cheney was already going to get the boot, but Trump just put the icing on it.
