Career
Roger began his career at Dynamo Beervelde’s renowned academy. He made his Cameroonian second division debut at the age of 15 with Eclair de Douala. He won the Cameroonian school high jump championship after two years.
He joined the Eclair Club of Douala’s youth system and made his first-team debut in 1970. Gary Linekar and the English national team defeated his team in the 1990 World Cup quarterfinals.
Roger was similarly enticed to Europe in 1977 by the French team Valenciennes. Milla joined AS Monaco in 1979 and scored twice in 17 league games in a single season. He joined Bastia in 1980, and in 113 league games for the first squad, he scored 35 goals.
After that, he moved to Saint-Etienne in 1984, where he scored 31 goals in 59 league appearances. He became a part of the club’s coaching staff after retiring from French football. Roger’s retirement from international football was marked by a jubilee in Cameroon when he was 36 years old.
