Who is Anthony Heredia ?
A Chicago man is accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl in South Lawndale on Friday.
Anthony Heredia, 19, faces a felony charge of first-degree murder, a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Arrested and Charged
At approximately 3:04 p.m. Friday, the 17-year-old girl was near a business parking lot in the 2500 block of South Kolin when Heredia allegedly approached her on a bicycle, police said.
She then she supposedly she pulled out a gun and fired.
The teen received a blow to the torso area and was self-transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Heredia was arrested moments later and charged accordingly.
Family
The family said the teenager was entering her senior year and dreamed of becoming a lawyer.

“I’m looking forward to graduating next year from Curie High School, I’m looking forward to prom,” Flowers said.
Police said Heredia was on a bicycle when she pulled out a gun and shot him.
“We just lost her mother in April. We’re not even close to being cured of that,” said Krystina Ross, a family friend.
The smiles of the mother-daughter duo are forever linked in a quilt, while their deaths leave a pain too difficult to solve.
“I just wish she was still here. I wish this had never happened,” Sanderson said.
