Sam Hyde Facts
- Sam, in 2014, started a web series titled Kickstarter TV. For the show, he would find projects on Kickstarter (an American public-benefit corporation that maintains a global crowdfunding platform) and then ridicule both the projects and the people who made them, on his show.
- In August 2016, his sketch comedy group Million Dollar Extreme (MDE) premiered a show titled Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace. Sam had co-written the show and acted in it.
- However, Adult Swim (an American adult-oriented nighttime programming block of the basic cable network Cartoon Network), the channel that was hosting the program, did not renew it for the 2nd season. Sam later alleged that the show’s cancellation was mainly because of his vocal support for Donald Trump which the left-leaning media house was uncomfortable with.
- A book titled How to BOMB the U. S. Gov’t: The OFFICIAL Primo(tm) Strategy Guide to the Collapse of Western Civilization that Sam had co-authored, was published in 2016. The book caused a lot of controversies and some journalists and media commentators claimed that it was a deliberate act of attention-seeking by Sam.
- In 2017, he courted controversy by pledging USD 5k towards the legal defense fund of Andrew Anglin, the founder/editor of the neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer. Andrew was being sued for allegedly organizing a ‘troll storm’ against a Jewish woman in the state of Montana.
- In 2022, American YouTube personality and comedian iDubbbz uploaded a documentary on YouTube about Sam. The video aimed to try to understand and communicate with him beyond the irony and acts that he puts on.
- He has a keen interest in boxing and had helped train Jewish-Canadian YouTuber Harley Morenstein for Creator Clash, a charity boxing event consisting of 9 fights between 18 content creators held on May 14, 2022, at the Yuengling Center on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
