The Masked Singer is being filmed in a coronavirus hotspot, so it’s hardly surprising the crew are going above and beyond to make sure everything is COVID safe.

And health and safety measures were being strictly enforced on Monday when judge Dannii Minogue arrived on set in Melbourne‘s Docklands.

Before heading inside, the 48-year-old sanitised her hands with alcohol gel and had her temperature checked by a staff member using a handheld device.

She was also wearing a face mask, which all Melbourne residents must do as the state of Victoria grapples with a second wave of coronavirus.

Dannii, who wrapped up warm in a hooded puffer jacket, was also joined by a burly man believed to be her personal security guard.

It comes after Dannii’s co-star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson revealed how she had sought assurances from Channel 10 that safety measures would be strictly enforced on set.

‘There’s no way I would want to risk my health for a TV show,’ the Sydney-based radio host, 45, told The Sunday Telegraph.

‘I’ve had many conversations with Channel 10 about this because I take that seriously and you hear on the news about Victoria’s rising cases.’

Jackie, who is living in an apartment in Melbourne during filming, also said that some people don’t seem to be taking the virus seriously.

‘I know people say the symptoms are mild but I certainly don’t want to get it because I’ve heard there are complications that might stay with you for a long time,’ she said.

The past few weeks have seen COVID-19 cases spiral in Victoria, with Premier Daniel Andrews forcing the state back into lockdown, making masks mandatory in public spaces and imposing an 8pm curfew.

As a result, a ‘production bubble’ has been established to keep the cast and crew of The Masked Singer safe amid the pandemic.

Jackie had previously described the on-set safety precautions as ‘so over the top’.

‘There’s a lot of stuff that’s different now. There’s a lot of sanitising going on,’ she said on her breakfast radio show on August 3.

Jackie added that the judges ‘are positioned far away from each other’ on stage, and separated with perspex screens.

‘People can’t be near each other, we’ve got partitions in between us. There’s a lot of stuff going on. We can’t even stand next to one another,’ she revealed.

‘In terms of us following protocol, you just couldn’t get any stricter.’
