Who is Gregory Fleetwood?
Gregory Fleetwood, 66, was arrested for strangling Jasmine Porter, who was found unconscious with neck trauma on Feb. 5, 1996, at her Bronx residence, police said.
Fleetwood was linked to the murder after DNA evidence recovered from the scene in the early stages of the investigation was re-analyzed in 2021, police and law enforcement sources said.
The suspected killer and Porter did not know each other at the time of the murder, police said.
Fleetwood already had a history of violence against women before Porter’s death.

In 1987, he was arrested and charged with manslaughter for strangling a woman he knew in the Bronx, according to police and sources. He served seven years for that attack, police said.
