It’s not hyperbolic to suggest that the vicious political war Joe Biden is currently waging against who he calls “MAGA Republicans” (aka “deplorables”) is one of the most un-American tactics ever put on display by a President against his own people in the history of American politics.

At the core of Biden’s complaints about “MAGA Republicans” is the belief among many of them that the 2020 presidential election wasn’t decided fairly, that deception and underhanded tactics were involved. Further, Biden says he is concerned that some so-called “election deniers” might go and get themselves elected, and then our democracy will really be under threat or something.

“Democracy cannot survive when one side believes there are only two outcomes to an election: either they win or they were cheated. And that’s where MAGA Republicans are today,” he stated during his Thursday primetime address.

While there were many problems with Biden’s address, as we’ve already written about here, a big one is in how his claims about people not being able to accept election results left out the high-profile members of his own party who have also demonstrated on numerous occasions an inability to believe an election was decided fairly, like Stacey Abrams, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden himself.

If it’s okay for them to question or refuse to accept election results, why isn’t it okay for Republicans to do the same?

During the Tuesday White House press briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy confronted press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on this very issue.

At first she dodged Doocy’s apt comparisons between the doubts expressed about the 2016 and 2020 election results, stating that the focus was on the here and now and not on the past, even though obviously the 2020 election is in the past as well though Biden clearly isn’t content with leaving it there:

Though Jean-Pierre danced all around the issue, Doocy pressed on, noting how she herself had in the past tweeted that former President Donald Trump stole the 2016 election and that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp stole the 2018 gubernatorial race.

This did not go over well with Jean-Pierre, who called the comparison “ridiculous”:

But it was in her explanation on the supposed differences between her tweets about so-called stolen elections and Biden’s statements about MAGA Republicans that Jean-Pierre gave up the game:

“Governor Kemp won the election in Georgia. I have been clear about that,” she continued. “I have said President Trump won the election in 2016, and I have been clear about that. What we are talking about right now is, let’s not forget, what happened on January 6th, 2021. We saw an insurrection, a mob, that was incited by the person who occupied [the White House]. … It was an attack on our democracy.”

Watch:

Sooo, as long as you didn’t/don’t breach the Capitol building to protest an election outcome then it’s okay to deny election results? I mean that sounds like exactly what she’s saying.

This blows up Biden’s entire narrative about the “danger” of MAGA Republicans getting into office when you consider that the vast majority of them did not storm the Capitol building on Jan. 6th nor have they defended what happened.

Also, we already have “election deniers” in higher office as we speak, including Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. And an untold number of their senior staffers including Jean-Pierre all operate on the premise that the 2016 presidential election and the 2018 gubernatorial race in Georgia were stolen.

Going even further than that, powerful Democratic members of the House including Rep. Jamie Rankin, who was the lead impeachment manager against Trump in January 2021, is both a 2000 and 2016 election denier just based purely off the Democrat definition of what election denialism is.

The fact of the matter is that it’s ok to question election results. It’s okay to believe an election wasn’t decided fairly. It’s even okay to litigate election results you disagree with provided you have the receipts to back it up. But we were told even before the 2016 election that it was wrong to merely question results, that it was wrong to suggest you might not be willing to accept them. That it was a “threat to democracy” to do so.

Hillary Clinton said so herself.

But not long after she lost, she got busy claiming hers was stolen as a result of non-existent “Trump/Russia” collusion. Stacey Abrams stated without evidence that Brian Kemp “rigged” the system against her and has – to this day – never conceded she lost.

These two have been treated with the utmost reverence and kid gloves by the same Democrats and “concerned” media types who think Sens. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz should be expelled from the Senate and that Donald Trump should never be allowed to hold office again, all because they voiced objections to certifying the 2020 election.

This is why no self-respecting Republican gives a flying rip about what Joe Biden’s party and the mainstream media say about “respecting democracy” or whatever their latest talking point is. Democrats never hold themselves to their own (double) standards, so why play by their twisted rules? Answer: You don’t.
